Well we made a reservation and the girl took my name and phone number. She said we were all set for 7 pm that night. When our party of 8 arrived early, I saw a table set for our party. Or so I believed. When I identified myself the hostess said we didn't have a reservation. She stated after some discussion that the girl who took our reservation had gone home so we were basically out of luck. The table was for someone else. Luckily we were able yo get into Mulligans for dinner. I definitely would NOT recommend this restaurant.

I have to say I was a little bit fooled by the great atmosphere and hostess that greeted me, who turned out to be the co-owner. I did like the 70's theme with the edition of the salad bar, but I believe there should have been more focus on pricing and coordination. Our food was late and a soup was forgotten. Probably because the waiter made no effort to record our orders. Not only that but the food was dry and lacked flavor. I also did appreciate the large wine selection offered, and you could get a beer as low as $2! But then I glanced at the kids menu and saw chicken fingers for $15. It definitely needs some work. -Jake

There is a new restaurant in town and it is a winner! We are from out of state and were up to beautiful Vermont for a weekend recently. We wanted steak when we got in town Friday night and we found really did steak, a nice selection of draft beers, the best wine list in Southern Vermont and an incredible dessert donut - wow. So I was thirsty and got a Switchback Ale cause I had never had one and my wife a Chateau St. Jean Chardonnay on tap ... Great Start. We lived in Memphis for a while and that is the home of the greatest barbeque. Y'all Vermont now has a real barbeque rib place in Manchester - Memphis move over. We had the ribs as a starter just because we love ribs and these really hit the mark. Next time it will be a full order of ribs for me and a Long Trail IPA. For dinner she had the Beef Wellington and I had the 14 oz NY Strip. Cooked perfectly and very satisfying on both counts. These folks really know meat. We love Napa and Sonoma wines and they have a great selection - so we ordered a bottle of Hall Cabernet. Perfect. By the way, there are some really high end wines on the wines list and they are surprisingly really well priced. Hall runs $40-50 at the package store and our bottle was only market up about 50% - obviously this place wants you to drink fine wine with dinner and you can afford it here. Ok - we shared a Glazed Donut - pan seared in butter for a few minutes to make it crispy and then top it with carmel ice cream for dessert. It is so sinful and so wonderful. We met the owners Chef Ed and Nancy - Great people and we will be back.

Ravens, wow! What a find. In reading some reviews these people must be seriously disillusioned. From someone who has traveled the world, I can attest, the food and service are phenomenal! Great beer and wine selection. Excellent food! Friendly service and stunning ambiance. This place belongs in a big city, yet is nestled in Manchester VT. A MUST!

Ravens Tavern had me at salad bar! Their homemade dressings are to die for (don't miss the blue cheese!!) and the salad bar has lots of options for the best salad you can create. The wine selection was excellent and I had a delicious wine 'on tap' that was suggested by our server. Our server, Sunny, was excellent and genuinely kind, a kind that you don't always see in the service industry these days. She even had suggestions on what to visit while we were in Vermont. The entrees were good, not mind blowing, but a solid meal. The dessert, however, was incredible. A grilled glazed donut with salted caramel ice cream. Yum! I wouldn't miss this place if visiting the Manchester area.

After some turnover in Manchester restaurants I was in search of a new go to spot and a great place to recommend my Winter Renters. Raven's is a home run. The place was hopping but had a few seats at the bar. I started with a Cider Tini which was just one amazing drink on a long list of house special drinks. FYI the Cider TIni has a lot of alcohol in it, even though my friend laughed when I ordered it. The bartenders were so friendly and offered us a menu to start planning our delicious meal. Daily specials included fried oysters and braised short ribs. Once we finished our apps our table was ready. We each ordered a meal which came with the most amazing salad bar I have ever seen. I topped off my garden fresh salad with maple balsamic vinaigrette while my friend had the steak ranch dressing. My meal came out just as we finished our salads. I had the Sea Bass with Cous cous and grilled vegetables and my friend had the duck Confit which were both cooked perfect and tasted like they were from a Michelin rated restaurant. I always leave room for dessert and boy was I glad I did. Probably two of the best desserts I have ever had are the cider donut with ice cream and maple glaze and the bananas foster cheese cake. Warning if you are dieting you must go here on your cheat day. Nancy the owner stopped by and we immediately became huge fans. I loved the way she took our feedback and wanted to make our experience the best it could be. I am definitely going here any time I come to VT and telling all my renters they must try this place. This is sure to become the next big thing in Manchester, VT, and even New England. P.S. If You have been craving Prime Rib since Johnny Seesaws closed. The Raven's chef knows how to prepare the best Prime Rib in Manchester too.

Nice decor, everything else was less than good. Service was awful with bringing drinks, giving orders, following up etc. were this guys ever trained. My husband and I was enthusiastic at first. We want the restaurant to succeed but not after our last visit. 2 lunches and one dinner and unless you are paying we are out of there.

I came to visit a friend out here and I stopped by this restaurant because I've read good reviews about it. Best Steak I've ever had, great service! Definitely wouldn't mind going back!

Nive to see a new establishment on this location, and it has all the ingredients to be a great place. However, on this Thursday evening the service was on the slow side. Furthermore, the prices were way high for the quality and portion sizes. The kids menu was easily 50% more expensive than other restaurants in the area, and you got to pay excessively for a 6 oz steak. Salad bar is included but not everyone wants this these days. In conclusion food is good, but for the price you can get better in the area.

Wonderful salad bar. BUT we had 2 very overcooked steaks. We brought it to the server's attention. He agreed and said he'd yell at the chef. But then no more mention was made and we were not compensated in any way- no discount on the meal, no free dessert, nothing. Our first and last visit

We just had dinner at Ravens. Everything was fantastic. I ordered the Duck and my wife had the corn chowder and crab stuffed shrimp. The service was as good as it gets. It wasn't crowded on a Sunday night but our waiter Tom must have checked in with us 6 or 7 times. The restaurant is beautiful and I highly recommend Ravens!!

Great new addition to manchester! This place has the perfect balance of casual fare and more high end/gourmet offerings. Their salad bar is unique addition and again much more gourmet than your usual (gross) "salad bar". Picks: Beef Wellington, burger, chicken wings, curry

What a great remodel! Now onto the food, the salad bar is just phenomenal. I really like all of their different dressings and the variety of options. It is a steakhouse, so you won't go wrong with the prime rib when it's on special or the wellington on the menu. Also enjoyed their Vermont-style manhattan and jack daniels chicken wings. Service had improved but could even be a little more attentive for a full 5 star review.

We had dinner here on Valentine's Day. It was a lovely touch that they handed out a long stemmed rose to each woman dining that evening. I do find it unappealing that there is no sneeze guard at the salad bar...it caused me to hesitate a little. But, I will also say that the H.M. dressings are outstanding, and the warm bread is a great touch. The rolls were better than the breads. The topping choices are abundant as well. The lettuce, could have been fresher , as well as the beets. Otherwise, it is a terrific option to have a salad bar in the first place...the only one in Manchester. One would think that the Board of Health would not allow for an unprotected salad bar, however. My husband had the Duck Dumplings for an appetizer. This is where I almost leave 2 stars....I had to spit out the bite I took. Something was NOT RIGHT! Aside from my palate being accosted with too much soy sauce.... and he had a very upset stomach the next day. I am convinced the dumplings are to blame. Avoid them. The entrees are pricey, no question. I enjoyed my special of Halibut in lobster sauce. Chef used his lobster bisque to make a tasty sauce with dill. The King Crab on top tasted ammoniated..which is not the first time this has happened in a few places. The veggies were not hot- and the couscous pretty awful - stale tasting. Not a good option. Small roasted potatoes would have been better. My guy had Steak au Poivre. He ordered it Medium, but it was RARE. - the way I like it- and very good. The quality of the meat was there, though a filet mignon cut, it had some sinew. He enjoyed his abundant portion of mashed potatoes. I was jealous. His dessert was over the top SWEET and decadent- Maple Cheesecake topped with Bananas Foster and lots of whipped cream. Our server was good, but entrees took a very long time to arrive. The kitchen is still slow after 3 months. Take your time with salad, folks! Entrees average $30.00. Plan to spend.

We were up skiing recently and everyone said we had to try the new Raven's Den Steakhouse in Manchester. We loved the decor and fireplace. Great selection of beers and wines, and the bartender made me an amazing raspberry martini! The menu was varied and it was hard to decide what entree to choose! Even if you are not a meat eater, there are plenty of other choices. My steak was cooked perfectly, and everyone at our table was thrilled with their dinner. Can't wait to go back.

Fantastic stop on a ski road trip. Fireplace and bar area and a full dining room. Bar menu as well as a higher end dining menu. We sat with the kids in the lounge. They had fun. Very nice chef/owner.

My wife and I had a disappointing experience at the bar, but I'm revising and upgrading my rating in response to the owner who contacted us and offered a gift certificate to give them another try. This is what good customer service is all about, and I appreciate the effort. We'll be sure to try Raven's Den again next time we're out in Manchester, and will update our review. Thank you Nancy.

Hoping for good things from this place across from our motel. Unfortunately it disappointed. Went for drinks and it had a great selection of Vermont beers but was overpriced ($7 for a beer?). Nice furnishings and ambiance. The clientele was pretentious, drunk and obnoxious. Maybe a bad night (Monday) but we went to Mulligans down the street after and enjoyed ourselves.

Food was so so- steak was tough. VeRY rude staff that commented on my daughter (2 years old) letting out a scream for her hair being stuck in the bench. Clearly not kid friendly and my children and well behaved. Overall just rude that something was even said to us about our 2 year old. Adults cursing and yelling at the bar but my daughter is the disturbance! DO NOT RECOMMEND to anyone that has children or respects parents of children!

I love the decor....cozy, eclectic, warm and very well thought out. I ordered a Cosmo and was pleasantly surprised. The bar tender used fresh lime juice. It was very smooth and I'm extremely fussy! My husband and I sat at the bar and had an early dinner from the bar menu. I ordered a house salad with chicken. It was excellent! It had a yummy maple, balsamIc vinaigrette dressing with candied pecans. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting this area. My new favorite!!!!

Came here for the first time tonight and the service was awful (directed at the female bartender) we sat at the bar for a solid 10 minutes before we got drinks. She would acknowledge us by looking and then ignored us. I, myself being in customer service find this to be completely disrespectful. After eventually getting our drinks another 10 minutes passed and I asked for a menu, the bartender rolled her eyes and proceeded talking to other customers, doing dishes, & counting her tips. We eventually went online checked the price of our beers and just left cash on the bar and left. I was really looking forward to trying the food and it smelled great when we walked in. It's a shame that poor customer service is getting in the way of returning customers. It also looks as if I wasn't the first to report the same bartender this evening. I'd love to return and support this business if there was a different bartender or someone taught her the definition of the word "polite".

Great atmosphere and bar crowd. Especially loved the new craft beer selection. We tried the Roaring Brook Brewery Gold Rush IPA. Great beer - I highly recommend it .

Having left a concert at 9:15pm, there are very few good places to dine in Manchester at that hour with the exception of the newly opened Raven's Den. We had not dined there before and took a chance. That decision turned out to be a good one. We ate at the bar ( as most tables in the tavern were occupied). The by-the-glass wine selection was very good, the ambiance was just fine, the service was excellent and , as we both cleaned our plates, the food was prepared very well ( duck and roasted halibut with shrimp). Prices are not low but they are very competitive with other restaurants in town. Would I go back? You bet I will. George H. Manchester, VT.

I live locally and my husband and I have been anxiously awaiting our first dining experience here. We were extremely disappointed. The atmosphere is great but that's about where it ended. The food was dry and tasteless. The portions were small. The salad bar is a joke. The margaritas were $10 each (which is outrageous) and the price of our meals were overpriced as well. We won't go back. It feels terrible to have wasted so much money.

The place is a joke. Horrible food- old tasting on all accounts. stale, no seasoning. I will pay for good food and drink but this has neither. Beers very over priced too by draft (some are $10- for a draft???) The worst part was the service and the "owner" lady that would NOT leave our table. She obviously does not know when people don't want to talk with her. Spend your money elsewhere.

Wish I could rate the food but we couldn't even get served. 5 of us walked up to the nearly empty bar covered in dirty dishes and waited, and waited and waited. Place wasn't very busy. Finally gave up and left.

Had a wonderful experience at the Raven's Den recently, which is why I don't understand a lot of the 1 star reviews. Our waitress was very courteous, offered wine suggestions when we asked, and stopped by our table throughout the meal to make sure we had everything we needed. I had the ribs--which were absolutely delicious...but I also taste tested from other plates at the table--YUM is all I can say! Also the salad bar was great! I will definitely stop by again the next time I am in town.

Food was great! Drinks were better. Sat in the bar room this evening and had Jim as a waiter. He was awesome. Great feedback. Great recommendations. Awesome attention. Everything you want in a waiter. Even accommodated a last minute anniversary request.

It's really a shame because I was really excited to try this place. But unfortunately this restaurant has the worst reservation policy and will never survive in Manchester. No reservation is taken unless for 8 people. We got there at 6:45, are told that there would be at least a 1 hour wait. We sat very patiently, very calmly for 1 plus hours. Noticed throughout the hour that there were bunches of empty tables. Apparently they hold small tables to put together for 8, 12, 15 people. Finally, they tell us a table is available, and we see quite a few available in the main dining room But alas, they are not for us, they want to put us right next to the front door where it is freezing cold. We don't want to sit there and ask about the other open tables. Mind you, in the time they held all those tables for the large parties we could have eaten and left. But you cannot tell this very frazzled hostess that we don't want the table next to the door, so she blurts out, "sit where ever you want, I don't care". So we 3 go towards the back and sit at a table that can hold 6. Mind you again, at this point there are very few people waiting to be seated (the table for 12 came in!). We sit down, and NO ONE comes to take our order or to bring us flatware or water for at least 15 minutes. Finally my famished son gets up to go to the salad bar. He returns, and still no flatware. So he asks a bus person for some, then about 5-10 minutes later someone brings them, but says, "I am not your server". Still no waiter comes to take out order. So my husband and I proceed to go to the salad bar, by now it is around 8:30. At the salad bar, I hear the hostess say behind my back, "I really have to re-think this job". I couldn't have said it better myself, she needs to find a new line of work. Then the owner of the restaurant walks up to my husband and I and says, "did someone take your order? then how dare you go to the salad bar?" As if I was taking food I was not entitled to. I tell her, no one came to our table to take our order. She proceeds to berate us, saying we have been the rudest people she has ever met. I go back to the table finding this all very amusing, she proceeds to get into it with my husband. We are told to leave, which we do, wishing we had left an hour earlier, and as we leave she literally pushes my son with her foot and berates us in the front door. At this point I am beyond livid. Thank goodness another couple who walked out also after giving up on the one plus hour wait, called to us from their car to ask us what had transpired. They were furious as well; at least we knew we were not totally crazy. Again, It is such a shame, the food certainly looked promising. But with this sort of reception at the beginning of the ski season, it won't surprise me at all when Ravens Den closes, like every other restaurant that has occupied this space. Obviously the hostess and the owners have NO IDEA how to run a restaurant and satisfy customers, especially potential repeat customers (we are up almost every other weekend). To make numerous "smaller" table wait over an hour when there are clearly empty tables to be had, just to hold them for the "larger" and maybe more profitable tables is just bad business. I will make sure that no one I know even attempts to have dinner here. Good luck to them if they do. PS-We got a lovely table at the Perfect Wife immediately after this, and I consider that "karma". BTW, I had to give one star, as yelp appears to not allow zero stars. Too bad.
